Dr. Victor Kraus labored tirelessly as a wildlife ecologist, passionately striving to use science and reformed policies to curtail the human activities driving global warming and fueling the sixth mass extinction. When Victor realized that nothing would stop the number of species being lost to human greed and overconsumption, he resorted to using the only weapon left in his arsenal the first mass human extinction. A highly lethal engineered virus was developed and disseminated around the world to reduce the human population to one billion people. As the viral apocalypse detonated across the globe, the virus destroyed billions of lives and delivered fear and chaos to every corner of the earth. With the pandemic running rampant, a Montana virologist working on a vaccine, recruited an unlikely group of friends to help him hunt down an increasingly brazen Victor, stop the virus, and save what is left of humankind.

An adventure story, a biography of the human state, and simultaneously a science fiction masterpiece - a very well written work that draws you in to a time and place we all hope to never see - the world on the brink of extinction through acts of bioterrorism that threaten the very existence of humanity. In the course of its pages, the reader gets lost in the quest for good to survive against all odds, and in the everyday men and women who step up to save a society on the verge of extinction, the reader imagines how ones own family, friends, and neighbors might become the Ethan, Sam, Bob, and Fran - common people who face certain death at many turns in order to save the greater good. Be warned: once you start reading this, it's very difficult to stop! I anxiously await the sequel!Product details

Seventh Extinction The Genesis Project Eric Donaldson PhD Tim Harmon 9781925597172 Books Reviews
Very interesting storyline with a compelling combination of a global perspective along with realistic characters from small town Montana. A great read and all too possible. I would highly recommend this book.
I've been saying for years that if man doesn't do something soon, mother nature will. Being a native of the Flathead Valley made this book even more fun to read. Loved it. It will make a good movie, too.
I normally don't read sci-fi type books but this one was recommended to me, so I bought it. The first few chapters lay out the technical aspects to get you going. Then the rest captures your emotions, intrig and imagination to the point that I could not put it down. I hope there is a sequel in the near future!
Suggested to me, I was uncertain if it would follow my usual genre. It wasn't long before I was fully involved with the storyline. It seems well studied for credibility. Moves along at a perfect pace. Hard to put down. Will be recommending it to friends and aquintances (something that I usually don't do because of my choices in sci-fi). This book fits a wide range of readers.
I absolutely loved the excitement, suspense, humor, and emotion this book brought forth. The development of the characters was fantastic. The battle of good vs evil, humanity and desparation. It was very thought provoking and a bit scary. Living in the Flathead valley myself, it sparked my imagination as to what my actions would be if this were to happen. I had a hard time putting this book down and I was a little disappointed at the end because it left me wanting more, but that's what sequels are for, right? Can't wait!!
Boy, can these two gentleman tell a story?! It took a few chapters to get going for me, but once it did, it was all but impossible to put down. Doubly exciting as part of the book takes place where I live. For many reasons, a pretty believable story, well told. Well told indeed! I for one will be sorely disappointed if these two don't collaborate again, whether a follow up to this, or a stand-alone story.
First book from this author and first entertainment book I've read in quite a while. Character development was rapid and story developed quickly. Several parallel stories happening at once, so keeping them and their characters straight was a challenge. The end left room for sequel(s), but wrapped up too quickly in my opinion - the story has more to go, but I guess at some point you have to decide to end it. Wished for slightly less graphic language - hard to recommend to some friends, but the characters seemed consistent so their language while graphic, wasn't necessarily gratuitous. Knowing one of the authors personally, I found it humorous at times while reading that I could actually imagine him saying things just like some of the characters in the same way they were written; funny. Good, entertaining read.
