Sometimes things are not what they seem.
Kyle Rushton appears to have everything going for him. His own home, a successful business, a beautiful woman in his bed and an adorable son. But when things start to go wrong in his relationship it spreads like a cancer into every facet of his life.
Caught between a need for revenge and a search for justice, Kyle turns to the past for answers and the more layers he uncovers, the darker the truth becomes. Will knowing the terrible truth help him find peace and justice?

Well, actually in two sittings, but still it felt like I hardly had time to breath. At the beginning I was wondering, why should I be so hooked up to this book, as no way could I associate myself with all these people or this banal situation of unhappy relationship. Then, maybe it was something in Kyle's personality that kept me reading. His being attached so much to his little son was appealing.
Then, after events began to develop in unexpected direction I was head deep in the reading. I could not put my Kindle down until I finished. Only at the end did it become clear that all those bruises on Max's body were not from beating.....
The book left me wondering about life, about people and their attitudes....
Only if we were more attentive to each other, were looking into knowing each other better, were eager to talk out the problems, were not afraid of taking legal and moral responsibilities.... before it is too late....
I highly recommend this book. This is not the first book of this author that I've read and I see that the author's creative writing skills grow with every book.
Now I can hardly wait till her next book comes out.

Hush Baby edition by Cindy Vine Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
the book was well written, it was a page turner for me.it wouldn't be every ones cup of tea though
Grippingly real. Sounds like a true story. Easy read but an uncomfortable subject.
They were covering for each other all along. Mom was trying to save daughter by saying it was her only.

A story about a father's rights but not in a preachy way. The tension builds in this book to the stage where I just had to keep reading.
Very enjoyable read. Nice to get the perspective of the man in a custody battle, for a change. Great story with an unexpected twist.
I read this book in one evening. Like the other reviewer said, it was very difficult to put down...even for a few minutes. The suspense nearly drove me mad, trying to figure out what was going on with this poor child. Kyle's feelings of helplessness really tore at my heart strings. I know that this was fiction but everything that happened in this book happens to someone in this world every single day, not all together, mind you. This story was so told in such a way, however, that it seemed like non-fiction. The characters were that real for me.
The only thing I didn't like about this book, and it in no way changes my rating, is that in the very beginning, Kyle referred to Marlene as "the bitch" almost ad nauseum. Even though the term was fitting for her, it was just a tiny bit overdone in my opinion. It didn't last for long though and it didn't negative affect the overall story for me. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author!
